Model Posyandu Swasembada Sebagai upaya Menyelamatkan Anak-Anak Korban Bencana Gunung Merapi dari Loss Generation

Abstract

Introduction: Merapi eruption of natural disasters, has resulted in many losses. Losses that occur include the loss of property, damage of environment, decreases community economic. Loss of or damage to property and the environment, especially agricultural land causes family decreases. The food less will result in an increase of protein energy malnutrition (PEM). Based on the cases of nutritional status on the eruption of Merapi mountain, Sleman District, PEM was found in children increased. Children who suffer from PEM at 14.5% and children who otherwise malnutrition 1.3%. The purpose of the research to share knowledge about how to save the children on Merapi mountain from loss generation.

Methods: The research using field observation, and interview with Cader, and community leaders.

Result: Model "Posyandu Swasembada" is the type of modification Posyandu to increase function Posyandu as community agent to prevent cases of PEM and malnutrition, child monitoring and intervention in the region after the eruption of Merapi mountain.

Conclusion: The typical model in the table intervention, such as: nutrition education, supplementary feeding, giving of traditional medicine (herbal) in children growth is a fussy eater, massage, and referral. Model Posyandu Swasembada to save the children from PEM and malnutrition with the basic are empowerment in community itself.
