Abstract

Survey of World Health Organization on 2005 has shown the decreasing of number Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD) in developing country, including Indonesia. One of the achievements of the program directly is decreasing xerophthalmia prevalence and infection mortalilty in children and pregnant women. It is given twice a year with 100.000IU dose for children and 200.000IU dose for women. But National Institutes of Health reveals that 10.000IU dose is being toxic influencing bone health. It needs many studies, especially the effect on calcium absorption and free radical forming.
