Abstract

Introduction: Street food become the one source of nutrition for primary school children. Vendor selling it in interesting variety of food and drinks at a cheap price. Street food trader have low education and skills so that tends to ignore the hygiene and sanitation of food processing. Vendor come from lower economic classes, so they tend to use harmful ingredients such as formaldehyde and borax to make food so appealing and durable. This will cause both short-long term health effects and long term. Efforts to do is nutrition and health education for street food vendors as well as school children.

Methods: The traders are given education about hygiene and sanitation of food processing and also choosing good foods. School children are given the knowledge of various materials that can enhance their knowledge about healthy food. Such efforts can be accommodated through the School Health Unit, the subject, and nutrition education at home.

Results: The efforts of the two sides is expected to give a significant impact in creating a healthier younger generation. Result: There so many challenge. However, these challenges can be minimized with regular controls on vendor, as well as continuous monitoring and evaluation.

Conclusion: The contribution of snacks to children's consumption is significant in terms of hygiene and sanitation. Healthy snack education programs in schools can have a good impact. However, monitoring and evaluation of school snack vendors is needed to bring about positive changes.
