Pengaruh Teh Hijau Terhadap Penurunan Kadar Glukosa Pada Wanita Penderita Diabetes Melitus 2
Keywords:
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Glucose, Green Tea, WomenAbstract
Introduction: Indonesia has a relatively high prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus, about 2%, most of which are women. The number of complications that can arise from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is very worrying and sometimes fatal. To prevent various complications of Diabetes Mellitus, one of them is consuming green tea regularly to control glucose levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Methods: This literature review aims to determine the effect of green tea on reducing glucose levels (glucose, fasting glucose, HbA1c, and HOMA-IR) in women with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Results: The results obtained from this literature review indicate that consuming green tea can reduce glucose levels, fasting glucose levels, and HbA1c levels. But there is no decrease in HOMA-IR levels, and green tea absorption is better in the fasting state than in the postprandial state.
Conclusion: Consuming green tea regularly showed a significant decrease in glucose levels, fasting glucose levels, and HbA1c levels, while there was no decrease in HOMA- IR levels.
