Abstract

Introduction: Stunting remains a pressing health issue in Indonesia, mainly due to inadequate nutrition during the critical first 1000 days of life. Exclusive breastfeeding is a crucial nutritional practice, but its implementation remains low, often because mothers are busy with work and other commitments.

Methods: This article presents a descriptive narrative about the innovation of the “Exclusive Breastfeeding Calendar” as a practical tool to remind mothers and track breastfeeding practices. The calendar was distributed through community health centers (posyandu, puskesmas) and supported by healthcare workers, family members, and local leaders.

Result: The Exclusive Breastfeeding Calendar helps mothers and families monitor daily breastfeeding practices, ensuring that infants receive frequent breastfeeding sessions (8–12 times a day). In Klaten Regency, the use of this calendar increased exclusive breastfeeding rates from 60.2% to 73.06% within a year. However, challenges remain, including the need for honesty, commitment, and collaboration among mothers, healthcare providers, and local authorities for successful implementation.
